LE COQ SPORTIF

LE COQ SPORTIF

Le Coq Sportif, a French sportswear brand dating back to 1882, was acquired by Airesis in September 2005. Le Coq Sportif enjoys strong brand recognition and a solid global reputation. Based on its historical presence and the high value component of its name, Le Coq Sportif seeks to regain its market position by focusing on product and technology development and creating new designs which impart to the consumer the emotions and excitement of sport.

Following the acquisition of the Le Coq Sportif group by Airesis, the sports brand experienced a strong increase in sales and its gross margin rate. By the end of 2007, Airesis had already completed the first phase of its strategic plan: the direct take over of key markets, the setup of new sourcing, the hiring of a new management team and growth in sales.

Global sales

France, Italy and Spain make up the company’s main markets. Subsidiaries in these markets directly organize distribution through big-name chains and retail dealers in addition to support by certain company-owned boutiques as well as a number of “corner stores” in large department stores.

Distribution under license concerns primarily the UK, The Netherlands, Argentina and, most recently, Germany. In addition, at the end of 2007 contracts were signed with Eastern European and Russian distributors. Move Sport Style AG in Neuendorf (Solothurn) covers the Swiss territory with 45 points of sales.
